In modern times, censorship refers to the examination of books, periodicals, plays, films, television and radio programs, news reports, and other communication media for the purpose of altering or suppressing parts thought to be objectionable or offensive. Censorship of youth content in South Korea is often ambiguous, leading to misinterpretation of the creators’ intentions, modifications, removal of crucial content, or obscuring social issues. 

I gathered censored images from published and broadcasted content in South Korea, organized them based on the means of censorship, and visually reinterpreted the material.Furthermore, I incorporated excerpts from the book “The Palace of Dreams” by Ismael Kadare, an Albanian-French writer. The book illustrates the surveillance and censorship of deeply personal and intimate aspects of the human soul, such as dreams, under a totalitarian regime. I aim to prompt individuals to reconsider the significance and need for censorship by presenting diverse examples of censorship in South Korea.
